Provence: Gordes, paysage and streetscape

The Gordes is a commune in Provence region, and is located near Avignon.
(38 km far from Avignon station)
Buildings in the Gordes are standing on the hill.

The area near the Gordes has evidences of their occupation especially the Roman road passing through Apt and Carpentras and crossing the Valley.
In the World War II, a lot of building were destroyed once, however, the village is reconstructed now.

After reconstruction, the Gordes attracts artists like Marc Chagall or Jean Deyrolle.

Before entering the Gordes, you can see the beautiful paysage such as above.
This composition is very famous.

When you go into the village, you face a square.
Many restaurants and shops surround the square.

You can buy lovely sundries

Streetscape is also very beautiful.
Old buildings remain.

The small road has good atmosphere.

You can see the beautiful provencal paysage from the hill.

The beautiful paysage has spawled.

In summer, you may feel a strong sunlight.

However, the strong sunlight brightens flowers.

There is places for marché.
When I visit Gordes, the marché was closed because of afternoon.
(Maybe, the marché is held in the morning)
